Detailed Description of the Invention [0001] Objectives of the Invention [0002] Field of Industrial Use The present invention relates to lighting devices for discharge lamps, for example, lighting lamps which discharge at high frequency. [0003] Conventional Technology Conventionally, it is known that when a discharge lamp was lit, a large current was supplied to the discharge lamp when starting-up, in order to shorten the start-up time and improve the start-up. [0004] Then, when this type of increased current was supplied to a discharge lamp in the glow discharge phase immediately after starting, the device which returned the arc discharge to the normal current was, for example, as disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. S56-022097, Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. S57-000892 and Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. S63-006788. [0005] Moreover, in order to standardize the illumination of a discharge lamp, the voltage of the discharge lamp was detected at the time of lighting the discharge lamp, and devices in order to fix the current supplied from the inverter to the discharge lamp to a standard value were known. [0006] Problem to be Solved by the Invention However, when the current supplied to a discharge lamp is limited to a standard value, because it attempts to standardize the current at a standard value from directly after start-up to glow discharge irrespective of the arc discharge, there are the problems that the current cannot be increased, the start-up time cannot be shortened and the improvement of starting cannot be achieved. [0007] The present invention was achieved by considering the above problems, and provides a starting device for discharge lamps which, as well as standardizing the lighting of discharge lamps in normal conditions, shortens the start-up time and improves the start-up. [0008] Configuration of the Invention [0009] Summary of the Invention The starting device for discharge lamps of claim 1 is, in a starting device for a discharge lamp which is equipped with a starter for a discharge lamp which is based on the output of the power conversion means, and a power control means which controls the power output of said power conversion means based on detecting at least one of the voltage and/or the current of the discharge lamp, wherein the said output control means does not perform detection of said conversion means for a specific time period after starting-up. [0010] In the starting device for discharge lamps of claim 2, in respect of the starting device for discharge lamps of claim 1, the output control means provides a comparison means to compare the basic voltage and the voltage of the discharge lamp and compares at said comparison means, via a time constant circuit, at least one of said basic voltage and said voltage of the discharge lamp. [0011] Effect In the starting device for discharge lamps of claim 1, the output control means lights the discharge lamp with a large current without performing detection of the voltage from the power conversion means to the discharge lamp for a specific time period after start-up, and after a specific time period has elapsed, detects the voltage or current of the discharge lamp and fixes the output of the power conversion means to a set value, not only standardizing the lighting of the discharge lamp in normal conditions, but also shortens the start-up time and improves the start-up. In the starting device for discharge lamps of claim 2, in respect of the starting device for discharge lamps of claim 1, by comparing at least one of the basic voltage of the output control means and/or the voltage of the discharge lamp at the comparison means via the time constant, the specific time period can be derived with a simple configuration. [0013] Embodiments Hereafter, one embodiment of the starting device for discharge lamps of the present explained while referring to the drawings. [0014] In the diagrams, 1 is a commercial alternating current power source, and in this commercial alternating current power source the smoothing rectifier means 2 smoothes the commercial alternating current, voltage lowering means 3 lowers the voltage of the output from this smoothing rectifier means 2, the output of this voltage lowering means 3 is connected serially to inverter means 4 to convert the output to high frequency waves as a power converter, and the discharge lamp FL, for example a high luminance discharge lamp, is connected to this inverter means 4. Moreover, starter 6 is connected in discharge lamp FL in order to simplify starting by outputting a high voltage pulse at the time of start-up and in inverter means 4, illumination control means 7 is connected to convert the output to discharge lamp FL and to perform illumination. [0015] In addition, in discharge lamp FL, at least one of the voltage and/or current of this discharge lamp FL is detected, and when at least one of the voltage and/or current of this discharge lamp FL is above a predetermined value, output control means 8 is connected in order to lower or stop the output of the voltage lowering means 3. The output control means 8 is connected to the non-inversion input terminal of operational amplifier OP, which is the comparator circuit, via resistor R1 to discharge lamp FL, and is also connected to time constant circuit 11 which is comprised of resistor R2 and capacitor C1. Furthermore, the inversion input terminal of operational amplifier OP is connected serially to resistor R3 and resistor R4, supplying the basic voltage of the inverter input terminal. Then the output terminal of the operational amplifier OP is connected to the voltage lowering means 3. [0016] Next, the operations of the circuit shown in Figure 1 are explained. [0017] Firstly, the commercial alternating current from the commercial alternating current source 1 is smoothed and rectified by smoothing rectifier means 2 and the voltage is lowered by voltage lowering means 3, inducing high frequency waves in inverter means 4. Then power is supplied to discharge lamp FL. When discharge lamp FL is started, a pulse is output from starter 6, assisting the starting-up of discharge lamp FL. Moreover, capacitor C1, is arranged to be charged when discharge lamp FL has been glow discharging for a predetermined period and, as shown in Figure 2 (a), the voltage is input to the non-inversion input terminal of operational amplifier OP and, as shown in Figure 2 (b), voltage is input to the inversion terminal and a wide pulse is supplied to discharge lamp FL, in other words a large current is supplied from inverter means 4. Then, as the discharge lamp FL transitions from glow discharge to arc discharge, the current supplied from inverter means 4 to discharge lamp FL is reduced, as shown in Figure 2 (c). [0018] Therefore, when discharge lamp FL is started up, by means of time constant circuit 11, the voltage of discharge lamp FL is not directly input to operational amplifier OP, and because output control means 8 does not reduce the output to voltage lowering means 3, at the time of starting discharge lamp FL, a large current can be definitively supplied from inverter means 4, the shortening of starting time and the improvement of start-up characteristics are enabled. [0019] Then, the discharge lamp FL is started, and after time constant circuit 11 is charged, output control means 8 detects the voltage or current of discharge lamp FL, and if either exceeds a predetermined value, the output of inverter means 4 at the voltage lowering means 3 is reduced or stopped, protecting the inverter means 4 and such like. [0020] Moreover, the output of inverter means 4 is controlled at illumination control means 7, enabling the adjustment of illumination of discharge lamp FL. [0021] Next, the other embodiment is explained while referring to Figure 3. The circuit shown in Figure 3 connects the resistor R4 shown in the circuit of Figure 1 in parallel to capacitor C2, and also provides connecting the time constant circuit 12 to the inversion input terminal side which is the basic voltage. [0022] By means of the circuit shown in Figure 3, not only is the voltage of discharge lamp FL input to the non-inversion input terminal shown in Figure 4 (a), because the basic voltage input to the inversion input terminal is input with CR characteristics as shown in Figure 4 (b), and as a rush current as indicated by the dotted line in Figure 4 (c) is not input to discharge lamp FL, the reduction of the adverse impact on inverter means 4 and discharge lamp FL is enabled. [0023] In addition, if the time constant circuit 11 is removed from the circuit shown in Figure 3, it can be enabled by configuring only the time constant circuit 12. [0024] Moreover, as the power conversion means is not limited to the inverter means, choppers may also be used. [0025] Effect of the Invention By means of the starting device for discharge lamps of the present invention, by the output control means not detecting the output of the inverter means for a predetermined period, because the supply of a large current to the discharge lamp when the discharge lamp is being started-up is enabled, not only is the lighting of the discharge lamp standardized in normal operation, the starting time is shortened and the improvement of the start-up is enabled. [0026] Moreover, by means of the starting device for discharge lamps claimed in claim 2, by means of a comparison circuit and time constant circuit, because detection is not performed for a predetermined period, a simplified configuration is enabled.
